OCTOPUSS - Rock Power Trio

OCTOPUSS are an Italian rock power trio of mind-blowing live impact with international relevance, characterized by an energetic and steamy-hot performance on stage, massive groove with an emphasis on funk. The band, composed by Reepo (guitar and vocal), Marco “Garrincha” Castellani (bass – founder member of the Italian multiplatinum band “Le Vibrazioni”) and Nick Turri - replacing the former drummer Luca Capasso - has a large experience in live performance. They are one of the few European independent bands which can count more than a thousand of shows held in 3 continents: Europe, North America and Asia. They have performed at any array of venues and festivals all over Italy and rest of Europe, U.K., plus tours in U.S. (playing at famous venues on both East and West Coast) and also ten highly successful tours in China, becoming the European band more significantly active and present in China. They have been invited to perform at the most prestigious Asian Music Festivals in front of hundreds of thousand fans and at main Television Networks (as CCTV) playing live for over 70 million viewers in the Big China, in addition to hundreds of performances at most famous livehouses all across the Chinese Country. The band has also opened for big international icons as Deep Purple and Scorpions and has received various awards and recognitions (among them, winner of the Jack Daniel’s Challenge for Rock TV as "Best Italian Rock Band" was invited to perform at the “Global Music Event” at Lynchburg, Tennessee, to represent the Italian rock scene in the U.S.).

Currently Octopuss are recognized as the European band that has played more shows in China by far, and they are actively busy promoting cooperation and cultural exchange between the European and the Chinese rock scenes, often been invited to collaborate with local rock icons, embassies and institutions too. They have also been awarded by Beijing’s University of Science and Technology for their cultural exchange activities between Europe and China. Octopuss have achieved a world class production and top studio recording as well. The band, moved to Los Angeles, has recorded the last album “A Nut For A Jar of Tuna” in one of the most famous studio in the world: the legendary Shangri-La Studios, in Malibu, a milestone of Rock music’s history. Now owned by Rick Rubin, converted to a recording studio to precise specifications of Bob Dylan and “The Band” in the 1970s, location of Martin Scorsese’s documentary “The Last Waltz”, this studio has a peerless list of artists recorded such as Eric Clapton, Metallica, Kanye West, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Muse, Lady Gaga and many other music legends.

The album has been produced and mixed with multiplatinum British producer Gary Miller (David Bowie, Slash & Fergie, Lionel Richie, ...), with the collaboration of Beej Chaney (singer/guitarist from “The Suburbs”) and Eric Lynn (sound engineer – among the others, on Ed Sheeran’s, Metallica’s, Eminem’s albums). The last single from the album, “She’s Seventeen”, has been released together with its highly anticipated music video: the animated videoclip of the song has been realized in collaboration with IED - Istituto Europeo di Design (one of the world’s largest Higher Education Network in the creative field, design and visual arts) with mixed techniques of animation, combining 2D and 3D motion graphic arts. The video has been selected as “video of the day” in homepage of website of “Corriere Della Sera”, Italy’s most popular newspaper, along with other important online magazines and medias. The band, invited to perform at important music festivals across Europe in spring/summer 2025, headlining some of them, will tour internationally till the end of 2026 and is expected to touch down in many European Countries and Asia again.
